Sojourner #014: From Everlasting To Everlasting
"Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God." (Psalm 90:1-2)
Can you imagine the God who is transcendent enough that every generation (across time) is able to take shelter in His presence, and yet, is immanent enough that each generation (at any given time) is able to take shelter in His presence?
"From everlasting to everlasting you are God" (Ps. 90:2).
The God of Scripture simultaneously humbles us with the unimaginable magnitude of His greatness and draws near to us with knowledge of us that we, ourselves, do not possess.
Our desire for a God who is able to meet us in our darkest valleys and sympathize with us in our weakness is not found in creating a God that we can relate to but by drawing near to the God who holds our whole life in His hands.
