Teacher Appreciation: A Local Outreach with a Global Mission

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, Sojourner Magazine is privileged to share how Harvestfield Church (HFC) and Sojourner joined together to carry the name of Christ to the nations, right here in our local community. 

Through this outreach, the Gospel was shared with teachers over 215 times, illustrating how even the smallest acts of service can proclaim the truth of God’s Kingdom.

This year, HFC delivered over 80 gift bags to teachers at Southside High School, each containing a sweet treat, a Gospel message, and an invitation to hear more about the hope found in Christ alone. 

Sojourner Magazine supplied pies for the teachers at Southside High School, and in a beautiful collaboration between HFC and Sojourner, we provided cookies to around 40 teachers and staff at Etowah Middle School (Go Devils!), each with a Gospel message attached.

These gestures were more than simple acts of appreciation; they were opportunities to embody the truth of the Gospel in our community. By God’s grace, we trust that these humble gifts, and the words they carried, will take root in the hearts of those who received them, for His glory.

To the teachers - thank you. We recognize the weight of your labor and the impact you have in shaping lives, and we honor you for your faithful service. We know that your work is often unseen, but we are reminded of the calling we all share in Christ’s Kingdom - to faithfully serve where God has placed us, whether in the classroom, the workplace, or the home. Your commitment to shaping young minds and hearts is a gift to our community, and we are grateful for the role you play - by faith.

“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6, ESV)

To every teacher and volunteer (special thanks: Tracie Griggs) who made this outreach possible - thank you. May this act of service bear eternal fruit, and may we continue to labor in faith, trusting that God will accomplish His good purposes through His people, both locally and globally.
